Worcestershire Arts Partnership is currently going through a period of development to ensure it reaches and supports a wider range of artists, arts organisations and those from the non-arts sector who are interested in using the arts as a tool to engage and empower people. The Partnership has recently reviewed its Mission and Aims to reflect its new ambition.

A newly formed Strategic Development Group will be at the core of the Partnership, shaping its development over the next few months.  New key initiatives will include:

  • Networking days for artists and arts organisations to encourage collaboration and innovation
  • A Programme of CPD Workshops which sees a range of nationally renowned and local speakers sharing their expertise and best practise

Worcestershire’s Cultural Education Partnership

Local Cultural Education Partnerships were established as a response to the Cultural Education Challenge to develop a more joined-up arts and cultural offer locally, to share resources and bring about a more coherent and visible delivery of cultural education.

The aim of each network is to support a cultural offer that guarantees access to diverse, high quality arts and cultural opportunities for children and young people in each locality, and to connect a region as a whole.

Darren Henley, Chief Executive of Arts Council England, said:

“A great arts and cultural education gives children and young people the confidence and creative skills to thrive as individuals, as members of our society, and as the next generation of creative talent. All children and young people, wherever and whatever their start in life, should have the opportunity to have an arts and cultural education that nurtures innovation and unlocks the vital skills that are helping to drive our world leading creative industries.”

Worcestershire’s CEP comprises a mix of arts organisations, education establishments, individual artists and non-arts organisations working with young people.

Worcestershire’s CEP is committed to inspiring and engaging children and young people as artists, producers, audiences and participants.
